CROSSED CANOES PATTERN - Instructions for use: Simply copy the image above to your hard disk and print it out. If you're not sure how to save an image to your hard disk, you can find detailed instructions by clicking here. Once you've saved the image, you can open it in any image editing program and print from there. We don't recommend printing directly from your browser -- chances are the size will be wrong if you do. If you're a Windows user, and you don't already own a good image editing program, we highly recommend downloading a copy of Irfanview (see our " Tools" page for a link). It's a great little program, it's free, and it will allow you to print images any size you like. If you're a Mac user, double-clicking the image will most likely open it in Quicktime Picture Viewer if you're running the Classic OS, or Preview if you're running OS X. If you need to edit the image before printing, try iPhoto or Graphic Converter (also linked on our " Tools" page). The pattern was designed to be exactly 6" , with a 1/4" seam allowance, so the total printed size should be 6.5" x 6.5" (cut the printed pattern on the OUTSIDE of the dotted line for a 1/4" seam allowance). Of course, you can reduce or enlarge that if you wish - just remember to adjust the seam allowance back to 1/4" if you change the dimensions. We've tested this pattern on many different systems to make sure it comes out the right size when it's printed. Obviously we can't test it on every system. If you have problems printing it, or it comes out the wrong size we'd really appreciate it if you'd drop us an email to let us know. We want to make this as easy as possible for everyone. Thanks! Please note: To avoid costly mistakes, we recommend that you make a test block for any new pattern before cutting fabric for the entire piece. Click here to return to the previous page |
