4-POINT STAR This beautiful 4-Point Star block is a simplified variation on the Mariner's
Compass. Each block is made up of four identical segments and makes up
fairly quickly, whether traditional or paper foundation pieced. Striking
results can be obtained with a two-color block set diagonally in a grid
with alternating plain squares of the background color. It also makes
a strong center block in a medallion quilt. |

We have provided templates for paper foundation piecing a 10-inch block. If you're paper foundation piecing, don't forget to add a ¼" seam allowance around both templates. For traditional piecing, simply trace each of the five pattern pieces and add a ¼" seam allowance when cutting your fabric. Also, when cutting fabric pieces for traditional piecing, make sure to keep the outside edges of the block on the straight of the grain. Click here for the templates. |
